We're PMJS Lifetime Charter Members of the Purebred Herd Book for Mini Jerseys. We give priority for our cows to other PMJS Lifetime Members. We're committed to breeding 100% Jersey genetics, proven by Breed Based Representation (BBR) DNA testing. We prioritize dairy traits, grain-free production, and breed each generation of true miniaturized Jerseys for improvement. We want to see our cows go to others that demonstrate a similar commitment to purity. We're also Lifetime Members of the American Jersey Cattle Association.

AVAILABLE CATTLE:

NORTH WOODS SNOW ANGEL -PP    ** $10K **
11/21/2024, 24" at birth, 33" AT 5 months, BBR 100 GT100K
Beta Casein A2/A2, Kappa Casein A/B, Beta Lactoglobulin A/B, Beta Casein A/A, BD1-

JEUSA000175175169  {1}, PMJS B06240087

Snow Angel is homozygous Polled (Pf/Pf) and A2/A2. We expect she'll finish between 41" and 43".  Her sire is North Woods Renegade-PP, A2/A2, BBR93 GT100K, 42" at 2 yrs (South House Dapper Dan, 43.5", & NW Autumn, BBR86 GT45K, 41.5"). Renegade carries strong genetics from Autumn for long teats, a well supported udder, miniature stature, and great production without grain. She's very pale fawn with a few white patches and hints of silver.  Her final placement will need to be a PMJS Lifetime Member with experience raising and training heifers.
Angel's dam, Raising Arrows Aspen-PP, A2/A2, BBR100 GT100K, 45" @ 3 years (Emil of Misty Morning Farm, 41" at 4 years & NW Willow, BBR92 GT45K, 45"), is at the bottom of our herd's pecking order.  She's timid and wasn't interested in nursing her calf, though she cleaned her well.  Since Angel was her first calf we think she'll be willing to nurse her subsequent calves.  Angel had her dam's milk from a Peach Teat bottle for 1 month then nursed NW Fern (tested disease-free) until she was 4 months old.  Angel is sweet, shy, and working on halter training.

We've decided to sell her because breeding her at 15-18 months will result in a late November to Feb calving.  Deep Winter calving is not a good idea in North Idaho!  It would be possible to wait to breed her later but we've decided to offer her instead.  She's going to make someone a wonderful family cow and produce very valuable calves, like herself, when bred to top quality Purebred Mini Jersey bulls.

Our herd has extensive disease-testing and everyone here is disease-free.  You can see the testing list further down this page.  We pride ourselves on our biosecurity and healthy, clean-tested herd.

If you're interested, please fill out this application form to be contacted for an interview.  We won't be rushing the process since we want to find a good fit for her.

Please, be prepared to provide a Veterinarian reference, and photos of your cattle shelter and pasture. We provide the same. We like to see at least 3 acres of pasture available. We want to ensure your new cow will be as happy with you as you'll be with her!
