Yukon Cornelius is Polled and A2/B, which is the same as A1/A2. We expect he'll finish small Midsize, around 43". His sire is North Woods Renegade-PP, A2/A2, BBR100 GT100K, 42" at 2 years (South House Dapper Dan, 43.5", & NW Autumn, BBR90 GT45K, 41.5"). Renegade carries strong genetics from Autumn for long teats and a well supported udder. Renegade carries white broken coat but Yukon Cornelius doesn't have any white spots. It's possible he carries white and can pass it. Currently, he appears to be very pale fawn with hints of turning silver. |
His dam, NW Fern-P, A1/A2, BBR100 GT45K, 40.5" at 3 years (MPRR Little Firecracker, 42" at 33 months, BBR88 GT100K, & NW Ruby, 47.5" at 3 yrs, BBR100 GT9K) was bred by live cover. She's turning 8 this year and has had many calves for us. Yukon Cornelius has many maternal siblings! In fact, Fern has such great genetics that we flushed her for heifer-sorted embryos in 2020. We have a couple of Fern's daughters, Lilac and Flora, in our herd. Fern is a great producer, giving 3 gallons a day without grain. She's raised extra calves for us nearly every lactation. Right now, she's nursing Yukon Conrelius and his paternal half sister, Snow Angel. We would consider selling Fern with him to the right home. (Her final placement would need to be a PMJS Lifetime Member to be considered.)
He needs to nurse until 4 months old on April 24, 2025. He's started on the lead and is on his dam currently. He can leave before weaning if you have a nurse cow that's tested disease-free. Our Mini cows tested negative for Chondrodysplasia, the genetic defect "Bulldog Gene" that causes dwarfism in cattle. We have an extensive testing and bio-security protocol to protect our herd.
