We are committed to grain-free, GMO-free, and pasture-based management, striving for 'beyond organic' practices that prioritize the health and comfort of our herd. We raise our Jersey cows with the same care as our own family and are excited to help you find the perfect addition to your homestead.

We specialize in raising and training A2/A2 Purebred Mini Jersey family milk cows backed by DNA-tested pure Jersey genetics. While we have successfully placed many experienced cows with new families, we believe in the homesteader’s way of life—learning and refining our methods every single day to ensure our herd keeps getting better for yours.

Lance’s roots in the dairy world go back to his grandfather’s farm, where neighbors bought fresh milk on the honor system. In 2012, while Lance was still serving in the Army, we brought home our first two Jersey cows to start our own raw milk journey. Though Lorinda began with zero milking experience, those first years of patient, hands-on training laid the foundation for our expertise in family dairy cows. What started as a steep learning curve has grown into a decade-long passion for raising registered Purebred Mini Jerseys with exceptional manners and calm temperaments.

Family is the heart of North Woods Homestead. Since our son and grandson moved home, we are truly a multigenerational family farm, raising the next generation alongside our A2/A2 Purebred Mini Jerseys. With our daughter’s help as an expert farmhand, we share the rewarding work of sustainable homesteading. Whether it’s tending the orchard or the garden and greenhouse, we take pride in our natural rural lifestyle, ensuring every animal is raised with love and every harvest is shared with family and friends.
