IDAHO NPIP #110
We're excited to announce we are breeding some very special chickens on our homestead. Salmon Faverolles are listed as a "Threatened" heritage breed on The Livestock Conservancy Conservation Priority List. Our efforts to breed and share these unique dual purpose chickens will help protect them from being lost forever. |
** We have fulfilled our goals for 2020. Thank you to all those who have supported us. We're growing out some beautiful birds for our future breeding plans. **
We chose Salmon Faverolles for their well known docile nature, hardiness, early maturity, and great Winter production of tinted medium sized eggs. Faverolles are one of the few five-toed chickens and Salmon is a unique color pattern found exclusively on the Faverolles breed. Faverolles, with their fluffy muffs, feathered feet, beards and sweet disposition are great pets for children. A dual purpose bird, with meat favored by chefs for exceptional tenderness, is efficient for the homestead. This particular variety is also easy to sex by feather coloring so we can identify and offer Pullet chicks and replacement layers for your own flock.

An APA Hall of Fame Grand Master Exhibitor, Licensed Judge, and Breeder helped us cull our foundation stock and was hands-on in the selection of our breeding flock. Our Salmon Faverolles are being bred to the APA Standard of Perfection to provide our community with quality chickens and further The Livestock Conservancy's efforts to save them.

We invite you to follow our journey and see the new coop we built to house our very rare flock on the homestead.
Our original bloodlines were sourced from across the United States from NPIP participating breeders. Our flock has undergone testing for NPIP and Avian Influenza. As part of the NPIP annual recertification our birds and their living areas are inspected by an Idaho State Department of Agriculture Veterinarian. Additionally, the state vet visits bi-annually for Avian Influenza testing. Our Idaho issued NPIP number is 110.
Rare Threatened Status Salmon Faverolles These are purebred Salmon Faverolles. They have 5 toes, beards, muffs, white legs, and moderately feathered feet. Hens have a smaller single comb and lay tinted medium to large eggs. Roosters have much more color variation and a medium single comb. Limited seasonal availability. Contact us about the next hatch. Last update of this page was 12/28/2020. |

** We do our very best to fill orders in the time frame desired. Eggs leaving here will be packed well and are fertile. Please be aware though, when mailing eggs there are many factors out of our control. Fresh, fertile eggs that have never shipped hatch at an average rate of 80% or so. If they are shipped, that rate drops to an average of 50% if handled very carefully. Its likely your order will NOT achieve a 50% hatch rate. We can't be responsible for hatch rates since we have no control over handling in transit. Thank you for supporting our efforts to help save this special poultry breed. **

LOOK AT THE BIRDS OF THE AIR;
THEY DO NOT SOW OR REAP OR STORE FOOD IN BARNS,
AND YET OUR HEAVENLY FATHER FEEDS THEM.
ARE YOU NOT MUCH MORE VALUABLE THEN THEY?
